i…..actually agree with this??
i mean it’s like most of the time, the fandom only really cares about the character’s personality if they’ve been made popular in the fandom (dave is a really big example of this)
whereas rose has pretty much the same amount of character development as dave, yet no-one cares about it because they think rose is boring and nothing more - her only purpose to the fandom being classy lesbians with kanaya, and they’re too busy gushing over how ~*~SAD AND UPSETTING DAVE’S CHILDHOOD WAS AND HOW HE MISSES HIS BRO BOO HOO~*~
i mean did it ever occur to you that rose’s mother was an alcoholic
she freaking got drunk on jaspers’ (probably one of rose’s only friends - a cat) funeral and passed out on the sofa later that day.ok this post got too long and ranty, i’ll shut up now.
seconded, but everyone has to keep in mind that when it comes to this fandom, most of the people are too busy trying to get off on ships and fictional characters that the storyline is just lost.
what eddie said ahah ;u;
To be 278% percent honest, I think there is a lot of truth to this statement. I read homestuck and enjoy it because it in itself is an amazing story that has a lot of character development and a dynamic interesting story line really wants me to keep reading more, it seems like a lot of people just are home stuck fans because of fan art and convoluted melodramas that some people keep projecting until most people can’t see the true merit of the story itself.
Kinda makes me sad that this is true ;A; I became a Homestuck fan because of the characters — well, and the story, of course. But I kept on reading because the characters were interesting and I loved them all (well, except Vriska, but even then I appreciate her as a character. Can’t love them all o_o). But this has been coming up recently (saw a picture on DeviantArt two days ago, in fact, that addresses this same issue), and, well, yeah, let’s get this message out there so we can fix this!!! :<
